What to say… There are good second seasons out there. I’m pretty sure that many will agree when I say that Clannad After Story it’s not one of them. Ya, I totally think that the first and second seasons are on completely different levels, and I’m going to explain why on the next paragraphs.

I still have a doubt about this seasons plot. Was Kyoto Animation trying to do something “new”, or was it just looking for a way to sell more? Seriously, this anime has one of the weirdest plot I’ve ever seen, and it’s not like the plot its bad or something, but being a sequel of such a good anime such as Clannad, I expected alot more from it.
Summarizing, the plot feels really weird coming from such good harem prequel, but if you really liked Clannad, and you really want to know what happened after it, you should watch it, though it might not fullfill your hopes.

Yup I’ll have to admit it, the animation is flawless. Kyoto Animation has always surprised me with the excellent animations that it provides. There are even some scenes (from the “girl of the other world”) that totally surprise me as the animation looks awesome. If Clannad After Story plot was a deception, at least the animation was as good as ever.

During all the anime, Clannad always had that slow soundtracks that sometimes give me te creeps, but anyways the sound is well applied though in most of the times, it was irrelevant. Pretty much an average soundtrack, not alot to say about it.

While the original Clannad gave us a very good character development, I felt that CAS destroyed a lot of it, the old characters barely appeared and the plot was mostly controlled by the main ones. It’s not as bad as it sounds, but its definitely not as good as it should.

Was I dissapointed? Yes, alot.
Do we Expect more seasons? For the good of the anime, I hope not.
Is it worth seeing? If you’re a real fan only, or you have enough time to waste.

Lol.. what a bad review here, clannad after story sure is waaaay much better then Clannad, even clannad is not complete without the after story.
Sure Clannad After Story is a best anime of Key’s and KyoAni!
Honestly if CAS confused you or you couldnt catch the plot in detail you really shouldnt be giving reviews.
Here I’ll break it down for you,

The plot itself hasnt changed since the beginning of the anime’s release, it has always focused on a number of things to keep it interesting. I’ll admit that in After Story that it lost some of the detail of the other chars in the story but, its just that an after story its based on growing up through life after the school years. It also keeps that little bit of mystery and imagination through itas well giving a bit more of a fantasy based touch to it (The girl from another world)
Music-
As far as the music off of the After Story it didnt change much from the first and second seasons of Clannad which I felt was a good thing. The music itself gives another life to the anime where most of the time words can not.
Characters-
Ill agree with you on that the other main Characters lost a bit of there story and rolls in After story but in alot of ways I agree with how things were done. After the school years friends drift apart and not here as much from others. Also with the large gap that was to fill from the first and second seasons still Kyoto did a very well done job on tying the story plot into it and still keeping the main Characters interesting as well as leaving alternate endings for other chars for a fan base on those.
I wont say too much more about it for those who have not got to see Clannad After Story.
